2. Purchase your South Dakota Notary Bond Package from the NNB

Once you have purchased a notary seal, make an imprint in the square box in the upper left hand corner of the application.

3. Submit Required Documents and Fees to the Secretary of State

Send the Following Documents to the Secretary of States Office

• Application (Make Sure you Affix and Impression of your Seal on the App)
• a check for $30.00 "Made Payable to the Secretary of State,"
• A $5,000.00 Notary Public Bond

4. Post Processing Requirements

Only after you have received a Notary Commission Certificate issued by the Secretary of State, are you authorized to notarize documents. Also with the Notary Commission you will receive a Notary Public handbook for your reference.
